Captain Ross Appleby and Chef Laurie Ward return to S/Y LIARA! Ross and Laurie are thrilled to be back on LIARA, the 65’ Southern Ocean sloop, and excited about chartering in the West Med this summer, one of Ross’ favorite cruising areas. The yacht is in tip-top shape and already booked from 18 June to 22 July in Spain. Accommodations for six guests in 3 cabins: Centerline double in the large en suite master aft. Two forward guest cabins - one double, one with u/l singles - share the second shower and head. Crew’s quarters have separate en suite head and shower. The owner, onboard in Spain to check the recent yardwork, reports “She’s looking really terrific! We just repainted the entire hull, installed a brand new, quieter generator and got brand new high tech sails.” Ross and Laurie are “doing a great job” and are eager to fill in the calendar for August. $18,500 plus all expenses – 6 pax, family only.

NYM Charter Yacht Show Report Nicholson yacht crews are so versatile! M/Y GALLIVANT, 53’ Hatteras. Congratulations to Captain Bill McClusky for taking a very close 2nd place in a field of 22 entries – just .02 points behind the winner of the Chowder Competition. Bill combined lobster, crab, shrimp and scallops – all from his home state of Maine - with cream and a “bit of buttah.” GALLIVANT’s crisply nautical interior got lots of compliments and Chef Lindy Spaulding’s hors d’oeuvres, notably the prosciutto-wrapped roasted asparagus, were superb. A full brochure is in production. Meanwhile, we have a good supply of the attractive one page flyer. En suite master, plus guest cabin with twin lower singles and private head and shower. $9,500/4 plus all expenses.
