Captain Andrew Garrat and his partner Lesley Cooke, both British, have worked together on yachts for some time.  After working as Captain and Hostess on a large private yacht they decided to try running a charter yacht and enjoyed a successful summer 2006 season running a  Beneteau 523 based in Turkey.  Confident of their new career choice, they purchased ANAM CARA and entered this year’s Marmaris charter show, receiving very high marks from brokers and enjoying a busy first season as owner / operators in the Eastern Med.

Andrew is an RYA Ocean Yacht Master Instructor with commercial endorsements for both power and sail.  He is an experienced yachtsman with some 100,000 nautical miles in his log book and a former instructor with John Goode’s world-renowned Southern Sailing School.  Andrew enjoys nothing more than sharing his knowledge and love of sailing with guests who are interested in learning seamanship. 

Lesley is an accomplished Chef and First mate who was born and raised in  Bristol, England.  A veteran of many years in the financial sector, Lesley has always enjoyed cooking and entertaining.  Her specialty is use of fresh, local ingredients in her menus and yars of travel have expanded her repertoire to include Mediterranean cuisines.  Lesley will ensure that and special diet or culinary needs are met.   Together, Andrew and Lesley look forward to creating for their guests a memorable holiday on board ANAM CARA.

Winter 08 Rates:  USD$ 6,225/2   $7,630/4    $9,120/6 – inclusive x bar, taxes, dockage & communications.

Due to confirmed charters for the Arc Race, Anam Cara will miss the Antigua Charter Show this year.
