New skipper on S/Y TABASCO! Captain Paul Preston has taken command of TABASCO, a custom-designed Baltic 76 pilot house cutter based in Antigua. Born in England and educated in the US, Captain Preston has a 25 year career in the yachting and hospitality industries. He has experience as captain of private and charter vessels, sail and power, up to 116 feet in length. Paul holds a USCG 1600 Gross Tons License and British DOT Certificate of Equivalent Competency with Class four Deck Command Endorsement. He has made an arrangement with a long-time colleague to freelance as chef on charter. Tabasco offers accommodations for six in three cabins forward of the main salon. The en suite master with a centerline queen is all the way forward. Just aft of the master suite are port and starboard guest cabins with one double berth each. These cabins share a bath with a glass-enclosed shower. All cabins have access to the port side sauna which also has a shower. Currently, Paul is finishing up an intense program of maintenance and repairs to bring Tabasco “up to snuff.” · major varnishing

S/Y GITANA (formerly Zingaro) is currently finishing up a major refit Captain Greg Sloat sent this list of upgrades nearing completion as GITANA undergoes a major refit in the south of France: · The hull has
been painted ‘Aristo Blue.’ Greg says it’s the best paint job he’s
ever seen. The big jobs are almost done -- all the final detailing and ‘putting back together’ should be completed by early April at which time GITANA will leave for England, en route to her summer cruising grounds in the Baltic Sea. Always maintained impeccably, the new GITANA now has a fresher, sleeker look and enhanced comfort for up to 8 guests in three en suite cabins + exercise room with 2 pullman berths. Her very spacious master suite offers a settee and vanity. Twin lower singles in the starboard cabin can convert to a queen bed and the port cabin has fixed twin singles. The exercise room, with ensuite day head, converts to a guest cabin with upper/lower single Pullmans and is ideal for family groups. Captain Argan Bailey, first mate and chef on board Mira for the past two and a half years, is very excited about taking command of this beautiful vessel. Captain Bailey holds an RYA / MCA Yachtmaster Offshore License, Commercially Endorsed, and is STCW 95 qualified in Medical Care Onboard and First Aid. He has experience on sail and power vessels up to 122 feet in length. Argan knows the best itineraries to suit every guest’s sailing holiday from visiting bustling markets to secluded beaches. Following months of upgrades and general maintenance, MIRA is in “fantastic shape” with: · New
gelcoat and bottom paint MIRA’s accommodations for 4 adult guests or a family party of 5 or 6 are in three en suite cabins. The aft master cabin has private access to the cockpit and features a king-size bed, sofa, vanity and settee. The starboard cabin has a double berth while the port cabin offers upper and lower singles. Summer rates in Euros (the same as last year: € 16,000/2, € 17,000/4, € 18,000 / family of 5-6 - plus all expenses. MIRA is available from mid-May through September in Croatia.
